Our network of industry associations

Associations and organisations help us contribute to the technical, regulatory and industrial dialogue shaping HVAC/R. Through these networks, we share application know-how on energy efficiency, natural refrigerants, indoor air quality, food cold chain, building automation, communication standards and product compliance.

Our participation connects CAREL with manufacturers, research bodies, public stakeholders and professional communities, helping us align technology, legislation and market needs with more efficient, reliable and sustainable heating, cooling, refrigeration, humidification and building digitalisation systems. 

European Partnerships for Energy and the Environment

EPEE promotes the understanding of the HVAC/R sector in EU policy and supports a long-term sustainability agenda. CAREL participates to follow and influence future EU legislation affecting heating and cooling. The work focuses on Ecodesign, refrigerants, energy efficiency, EPBD, circular economy, industrial policies, renewables, interoperability, data centres, and PFAS, with Raul Simonetti, HVAC/R Corporate Business Manager at CAREL, on the Steering Committee since 2018. The membership reinforces qualified networking and visibility in Brussels.

European Heat Pump Association

EHPA represents the European heat pump sector, including manufacturers, component suppliers, research institutes, universities, testing labs and energy agencies. CAREL participates to this association to follow and influence EU legislation and market trends for heat pumps. The membership supports networking, brand visibility and technical dialogue on heat pump deployment, refrigerants, PFAS, circularity, and interopearbility in residential, commercial and industrial applications across Europe today. 

American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning System

ASHRAE is a global society, founded in 1894, that advances sustainable technology for the built environment through research, standards, publishing and continuing education. CAREL contributes through technical and event roles: Raul Simonetti, HVAC/R Corporate Business Manager at CAREL, has chaired the Conferences & Expositions Committee in 2023-2024, in which he still serves, while CAREL experts take part in TC 5.11 on Humidification Equipment. The membership supports standards work, technology transfer, IAQ, refrigeration and sustainability worldwide in HVAC/R.

Eurovent

Eurovent is Europe’s industry association for Indoor Climate, process cooling and food cold chain technologies, representing companies across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Through Eurovent, CAREL supports and influences standards for ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration. CAREL has been a direct member since 2019, and Raul Simonetti, HVAC/R Corporate Business Manager at CAREL, has chaired Eurovent International since 2022. The work focuses on refrigerants, efficiency data, digitalization, market insight and fair industry rules for HVAC/R today.

Eurovent Middle East

Eurovent Middle East represents manufacturers and sector initiatives active in Indoor Climate, process cooling, food cold chain, industrial ventilation and building automation in the Middle East. Through CAREL Middle East, we support lobbying, promotion and the definition of regional HVAC/R standards. The membership, active since 2019, helps us engage in local events, product quality discussions and sustainability initiatives for the market and customers across the region with qualified sector dialogue.

Eurovent India

The Eurovent India Working Group supports energy efficiency and indoor air quality initiatives in India by providing expertise on European technologies and standards to private and public stakeholders. CAREL has joined the group since 2023 through Eurovent International membership. The working group enables dialogue on ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration standards, helping CAREL connect global HVAC/R expertise with the specific needs of the Indian market, industry, institutions and public bodies today. 

Associazione Italiana Condizionamento dell’Aria, Riscaldamento e Refrigerazione

AiCARR is the Italian association that promotes the responsible use of energy and natural resources, innovation in building services and the culture of sustainable comfort in the HVAC/R business. Through AiCARR, CAREL supports brand visibility, technical training and professional networking. The membership connects CAREL with designers, universities, companies and public stakeholders involved in sector regulations, HVAC/R knowledge sharing and the professional development of industry operators in Italy and Europe today. 

Centro Studi Galileo

Centro Studi Galileo is a training and information centre for refrigeration, air conditioning and renewable energy, and publishes industry magazines for Italian and international audiences. CAREL supports teaching, training and networking activities, often hosting courses or meetings in our training room and laboratory. The membership gives CAREL visibility with companies, installers and designers on refrigerants, safety standards and F-Gas topics in Climate, Retail and Refrigeration today now.

Observatory on Indoor Air Quality

OQAI is an indoor air quality observatory that supports measurement campaigns and guidance on the prevention and monitoring of indoor pollution. CAREL joins the initiative to strengthen technical dialogue on IAQ and its impact in sensitive environments. The initiative connects CAREL with work on legislative scenarios, professional awareness and cost analysis of poor indoor air quality in hospitals and schools, among others, where air control is a health and operational variable for modern buildings and occupants. 

ANIMA

ANIMA Confindustria represents Italian mechanical engineering companies through 34 associations and product groups, with more than 1,000 member companies. CAREL levarages the membership for information, training and access to the Italian industrial representation system. It also enables connection with refrigeration and climate associations such as ASSOCOLD and ASSOCLIMA, supporting our understanding of technical, economic and market issues in Italy and abroad, including advocacy and industry trends. 

ASSOCOLD

ASSOCOLD, within Assofoodtec, represents Italian commercial and industrial refrigeration, with focus on quality, energy efficiency, safety and environmental protection. Through ASSOCOLD, CAREL supports brand visibility, training and networking in the food cold chain. The membership links CAREL with technical and advocacy work on EU F-Gas Regulation, Ecodesign, Energy Labelling, refrigerants, safety standards and retail refrigeration in national and international forums for the sector in Italy and Europe. 

RIR - A.I.R.

RIR - A.I.R. is a regional innovative network focused on technology transfer between the aerospace sector and the industrial ecosystem, including spin-off and spin-in applications. CAREL joins the network for brand awareness and collaboration around aerospace-related innovation. The membership helps CAREL explore cross-sector technologies with high economic and social impact, connecting research, companies and regional skills in Veneto to international markets and emerging applications for industry. 

Legambiente

Legambiente is an Italian non-profit environmental organisation based on scientific environmentalism, public engagement and policy proposals. Within the "Unione del Caldo e del Freddo Green", a working group led by Legambiente, CAREL promotes knowledge on natural refrigerants such as CO2, propane and ammonia. CAREL also joined a field data collection campaign on food retail refrigerant usage in 2025 and hosted a 2024 seminar on natural refrigerants with nearly 100 Italian participants, supporting awareness beyond HVAC/R stakeholders and policy makers and regional institutions in Italy today. 

HACCP International

HACCP International is a food science organisation specialising in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point methodology and product certification for food-safe equipment, materials and services. CAREL maintains this membership for product compliance in retail and refrigeration applications. It supports CAREL certified equipment used in food businesses, including controllers, temperature probes and supervision systems deployed across cold chain environments worldwide and food retail sites today. 

BACnet

BACnet is a data communication protocol for building automation and control networks, developed under ASHRAE and recognised as an American, European and ISO global standard. CAREL keeps this membership to support product compliance for compatible communication features. Gold membership, adopted in 2017, enables CAREL to manage a wider range of BACnet-compatible products and ensure interoperability in HVAC and building systems, supervisors and BMS integrations for connected sites and assets today. 

KNX

KNX is an open standard for home and building automation, covering lighting, shutters, security, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, alarms, water control, energy management and metering. CAREL keeps this membership to support product compliance for KNX-compatible communication. Certified KNX products help ensure device compatibility, interconnection and interoperability in new buildings and renovation projects across the residential and tertiary sectors globally and reliably for users today.

DMTF Redfish

DMTF, the organisation behind Redfish, creates open manageability standards for cloud, virtualisation, networks, servers, storage and other IT infrastructures. CAREL levarages the membership to support compatible communication standards and receive technical support. This is relevant for data centre and critical infrastructure applications, where interoperable monitoring and efficient management of connected equipment are essential for reliability and cost control in complex sites and systems today.

Asociación de Fabricantes de Equipos de Climatización

AFEC is a Spanish non-profit association founded in 1977 to represent air-conditioning manufacturers and the wider HVAC/R sector. CAREL joins AFEC for networking and sector dialogue. The association supports forums, technological research, knowledge dissemination, export support and advice on technical, legislative and market topics for companies active in air conditioning and HVAC/R in Spain and Europe, with HQ support since 2025 onward today. 

REFRICLIMA

Cluster REFRICLIMA, formerly known as AFAR, the Andalusian Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Manufacturers Association, acts as a cluster for refrigeration and climate companies in Andalusia. CAREL joins REFRICLIMA for networking and regional sector dialogue. The association helps its members strengthen competitiveness, represent the cold and climate sector, and collaborate with public authorities and society on industrial development in Andalusia and Spain.

Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute

AHRI is a major US trade association for residential and commercial air conditioning, space heating, water heating and commercial refrigeration equipment and components. Through CAREL USA, we follow and influence US legislation, including EPA and DOE activity, and monitor refrigerant trends. The membership, active since February 2016, supports executive networking, brand visibility and standards review for electronic controls and humidification in North America, across policy and product discussions.
