From applied research to shared HVAC/R knowledge
Building applied research capabilities
CAREL began developing dedicated thermodynamic research spaces to reproduce customer application conditions in the laboratory. The first Thermodynamic Research Center connected air conditioning and refrigeration research with real HVAC/R needs, then expanded to 600 m² with new climate testing, demonstration and training areas.
Extending knowledge across markets
Local R&D capabilities in China and the United States brought the research model closer to international HVAC/R markets, supporting local projects while sharing methods, standards and application expertise. In 2016, this approach evolved into the Knowledge Center model, connecting R&D, sales support, after-sales support, conferences and knowledge dissemination.
Opening of the CAREL Knowledge Center and Innovation Center
The CAREL Knowledge Center was created to provide a dedicated space where innovation, technical expertise and knowledge sharing come together. Located at the Group's headquarters in Brugine, the 4,500 m2 facility includes the Innovation Center, training rooms, exhibition spaces and collaborative environments designed to foster learning, technical culture and dialogue with customers, partners and the wider HVAC/R community.
The CAREL Innovation Center is the Group's hub for applied research and technological innovation. It manages the innovation journey from exploratory research and advanced technology development through validation and industrialisation, transforming new ideas into reliable, market-ready solutions.
Together, the CAREL Knowledge Center and the CAREL Innovation Center create a unique environment where knowledge generation, research and innovation reinforce one another, accelerating the development and adoption of technologies that support a more sustainable HVAC/R industry.
