The place where HVAC/R knowledge grows

The CAREL Knowledge Center is our 4,500 m2 corporate hub in Brugine for HVAC/R innovation, applied expertise and technical culture.

Opened in 2024 at CAREL’s headquarters, the building brings research areas, training rooms, exhibition spaces and shared environments into one place designed to connect people, technologies and knowledge.

Each area has a specific role, but the purpose is shared: supporting innovation, making technical knowledge easier to access and creating better connections between CAREL people, customers, partners and the HVAC/R community.

Research, training and solution demonstration spaces in one Knowledge Center

Each area has a specific role, but the purpose is shared: supporting innovation, making technical knowledge easier to access and creating better connections between CAREL people, customers, partners and the HVAC/R community.

Applied research areas

The ground floor hosts a 1,200 m2 research area dedicated to applied HVAC/R activities. The laboratories are part of the Knowledge Center building and show the scale of CAREL’s innovation infrastructure, while detailed research methods and testing programmes remain part of dedicated R&D content.

Training and knowledge sharing areas

The upper floor includes four training rooms equipped for technical sessions, both in person and online. These spaces help CAREL share application knowledge with customers, partners and internal teams, without turning the Knowledge Center page into a catalogue of training programmes.

Solution demonstration areas

The exhibition area presents CAREL technologies and solutions in an application-oriented context. It helps visitors connect control intelligence, products and HVAC/R challenges such as energy efficiency, refrigerant transition and indoor air quality.

From applied research to shared HVAC/R knowledge

1998–2005

Building applied research capabilities

CAREL began developing dedicated thermodynamic research spaces to reproduce customer application conditions in the laboratory. The first Thermodynamic Research Center connected air conditioning and refrigeration research with real HVAC/R needs, then expanded to 600 m² with new climate testing, demonstration and training areas.

2014–2016

Extending knowledge across markets

Local R&D capabilities in China and the United States brought the research model closer to international HVAC/R markets, supporting local projects while sharing methods, standards and application expertise. In 2016, this approach evolved into the Knowledge Center model, connecting R&D, sales support, after-sales support, conferences and knowledge dissemination.

2024-2025

Opening of the CAREL Knowledge Center and Innovation Center

The CAREL Knowledge Center was created to provide a dedicated space where innovation, technical expertise and knowledge sharing come together. Located at the Group's headquarters in Brugine, the 4,500 m2 facility includes the Innovation Center, training rooms, exhibition spaces and collaborative environments designed to foster learning, technical culture and dialogue with customers, partners and the wider HVAC/R community.

The CAREL Innovation Center is the Group's hub for applied research and technological innovation. It manages the innovation journey from exploratory research and advanced technology development through validation and industrialisation, transforming new ideas into reliable, market-ready solutions.

Together, the CAREL Knowledge Center and the CAREL Innovation Center create a unique environment where knowledge generation, research and innovation reinforce one another, accelerating the development and adoption of technologies that support a more sustainable HVAC/R industry.
